Andrew Filippone, Band Leader & Trumpet
Biography
Mr. Filippone is a board member for Stardust Music Society of NJ and the leader of Stardust Big Band. He is also the principal trumpeter of the Plainfield Symphony of which he has been a member since 1993. He has performed with the orchestra of the Shakespeare Theater of New Jersey (formerly the Shakespeare Festival) for five different productions. He has also performed at private events honoring Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer and traveled to Morocco to perform with a group for King Hasan. Frequently engaged in concerts throughout the metropolitan area, Mr. Filippone also maintains an active freelance career performing at wedding ceremonies, receptions and many community events. Mr. Filippone is a graduate of Hartt School of Music where he studied with Roger Murtha of the Hartford Symphony Orchestra.
Instruments: Bb & C trumpets, piccolo trumpet, flugelhorn & cornet
Performs with: Stardust Big Band, Plainfield Symphony Orchestra, Madison Brass Quintet and numerous freelance groups
Andrew performs in both classical and jazz styles and is available to perform at wedding ceremonies, receptions and at other public and private events.
